Join the team of enthusiastic volunteers

The State Park Volunteers in Parks Program allows volunteers a wide range of opportunities. We invite you to reach out and enjoy the journey.

Be a champion! Got time? Got passion? Whatever talents you have, you can make a difference at La Purísima Mission State Historic Park. These volunteers can get their hands dirty by working in the garden, muck and feed the animals, maintain hiking trails, help with restoration projects under park maintenance supervision.

Volunteers and docents help:

  • Operate Prelado’s La Tienda (Gift Shop)

  • Staff the Visitor Center

  • Teach the past through costumed interpretation

  • Help with Jr. Ranger/Jr. Docent Programs

  • Demonstrate mission era crafts

  • Help care for the animals

  • Maintain in the herb garden
