The Weaving Room
Keeping the mission inhabitants warm and clothed was a never-ending job. Mission sheep were raised primarily for the warm wool fiber they produced. After the wool was cut from the sheep it was washed and dried. The dried wool was prepared for spinning by combing out the fibers in a process called carding. The fluffy carded wool was then twisted or spun into yarn which was then woven into blankets or cloth.
